Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, September 23, 2019 <br /> Page 10 <br /> Mr. Culver noted as a part of the RFP, there would be some targeted engagement <br /> with the existing tenants within the city campus, which would include the VFW as <br /> well as the tenants of the Lexington Shoppes. <br /> Mayor Roe stated the staging piece of this is important to look at because the city <br /> is not going to be able to make everything that is there now go away and put eve- <br /> rything in place without any disruption. He will be looking at how things are <br /> staged and at costs and provision of services by the city. <br /> Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Mr. Roger Hess, 1906 Wagner Place <br /> Mr. Hess was hoping that one of the options looked at is if a maintenance and <br /> cleaning facility and a twenty to thirty thousand square foot warehouse at the <br /> shopping center could be used and see if that frees up enough space in the current <br /> Public Works where it could be many years before the city runs out of space for <br /> storing vehicles there. <br /> Mayor Roe thought that made sense and realignment of some of the roadways <br /> might make sense as well if there was a decision to add on to the north side of the <br /> Public Works building to get more storage. He noted there are many possibilities. <br /> Laliberte moved, Groff seconded, authorizing the issuance of the RFP on the basis <br /> of discussion. <br /> Council Discussion <br /> Councilmember Groff thought this was really important and he did do a tour with <br /> Mr. Culver and it was brought home to him clearly that the city needs extra space <br /> and there are also some safety issues that need to be addressed. He was support- <br /> ive of this request. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Etten, Willmus, Laliberte, Groff and Roe. <br /> Nays: None <br /> h. Consider Railroad Quiet Zone Study Professional Services Agreement <br /> Public Works Director Marc Culver briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the <br /> Request for Council Action and related attachments dated September 23, 2019. <br /> Councilmember Etten thanked staff for bringing this up. He indicated he sent <br /> some concerns to staff as well, noting there are a few of these crossings in indus- <br />
