Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, December 2, 2019
Page 13
Interim Finance Director Jason Schirmacher briefly highlighted this item as de-
tailed in the Request for Council Action and related attachments dated December
2, 2019.
Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for the public comment, with no one coming
forward.
Willmus moved, Laliberte seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 11657 entitled,
"Resolution Approving a Special Property Tax Levy, For The Benefit Of The Ro-
seville Economic Development Authority, On Real Estate To The Ramsey Coun-
ty Auditor For The Fiscal Year Of 2020."
Council Discussion
Councilmember Willmus commended staff for the work done bringing forward
this particular budget and levy.
Councilmember Laliberte agreed and thought the EDA action on the contracts
from earlier in the evening helped the Council to see a bit into the future.
Mayor Roe indicated this levy does carry forward funding for the Rice and Lar-
penteur alliance project, which he thought everyone was interested in and support-
ive of how that is going forward.
Roll Call
Ayes: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, Groff and Roe.
Nays: None
e. Consider Changes to City Code Chapter 314.05: The Fee Schedule
Assistant City Manager Rebecca Olson briefly highlighted this item as detailed in
the Request for Council Action and related attachments dated December 2, 2019.
Councilmember Etten indicated at the September meeting, Council discussed and
there was some agreement amongst the Councilmembers to reduce the fee associ-
ated with Temporary Overnight Shelter from $350 to $250. He noted that has not
been changed in the last two iterations and he wondered the reason why.
Community Development Director Janice Gundlach apologized if there was di-
rection to lower the fee. She indicated that change can certainly be made.
Councilmember Etten indicated there was not a motion, only a consensus discus-
sion and he would support a motion to lower the fee to $250.
Etten moved, Willmus seconded, to reduce the Temporary Overnight Shelter Li-
cense fee from $350 to $250 on page 10 of Attachment D (Fee Schedule).
