Regular City Council Meeting
Monday,November 25, 2019
Page 14
Mayor Roe asked what the logistics are with regrading the existing pond contours
and things like that if part of it is going away.
Mr. Freihammer indicated it is a public drainage and utility easement but a berm
will be done to re-establish that wall. The one benefit of this split is that it does
define who maintains which basin.
Mr. Trudgeon updated the Council on the publication notice.
Mayor Roe reviewed public hearing protocol and opened the public hearing at ap-
proximately 7:53 p.m.
Public Comment
Ms. Tammy McGehee, 77 Mid Oaks Lane
Ms. McGehee wanted to make one more plea for doing something about the num-
ber of parking lots and the amount of asphalt the city has. She did not think it
provided an attractive environment. She was not sure with the increasing rainfall
and capacity whether the city wants to have everything underground and wanted
to make a plea for more green space.
Mr. Tom Noble,Developer for West Development
Mr. Noble explained when he has been before the city in the past, it was discussed
how an association with a major brand name is really important, not only to them
as a developer but also to the success of the project in the community. He noted
the brand IHG and that Holiday Inn has very stringent design standards for land-
scaping and green space and making the most out of everything so it gets right
down to the signage and plantings at the base of the monument signage. He un-
derstands that they do meet the PUD requirements for green area but he also
wants the Council to understand that this is an urban setting and the company
needs to do the best it can, not only for the interest of the city but for the success
of the hotel to have a nice and interesting green space with good plantings.
With no one else appearing to speak, Mayor Roe closed the public hearing at ap-
proximately 7:57 p.m.
Etten moved, Willmus seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 11652 entitled,
"Resolution Approving the Vacation of Drainage and Utility Easements Within
Lot 3, Block 1, Centre Pointe Business Park 2nd Addition, Ramsey County, Min-
nesota." Including the added text by the City Attorney.
Council Discussion
