Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, November 25, 2019 <br /> Page 17 <br /> Councilmember Laliberte thought it would be helpful for the Commission to have <br /> that conversation as to what falls into amusement today that did not exist years <br /> ago. <br /> Chair Gitzen asked if the Council had anything specific that the Planning Com- <br /> mission should look at. <br /> Councilmember Laliberte would be interested in having a conversation either <br /> amongst the Council or in conjunction with the Planning Commission about build <br /> forward design standards. <br /> Councilmember Willmus indicated he was willing to have that conversation. He <br /> thought there were areas where it works and areas where it can become problem- <br /> atic. He did not know if the blanket citywide approach works in all areas. <br /> Councilmember Groff indicated he was also willing to look at it. One of the ar- <br /> guments for that is it also slows down traffic, but he would not be against looking <br /> at it. <br /> Mayor Roe indicated he would be willing to discuss this item, but this is not a <br /> new approach and has been done in communities for years. <br /> Councilmember Willmus stated from his perspective, it has to do with sight lines, <br /> how the city is looking at different roadways, and the curvature of roads. <br /> Councilmember Etten noted as the Planning Commission looks at the Zoning <br /> Code updates, he would like them to think about environmental considerations <br /> such as added green space to commercial or high-density housing. <br /> h. Public Hearing to Consider Revocation of Multifamily Rental Licensing the <br /> Marion Street/The Brittanys Apartments owned by G&G Management <br /> This item was moved and considered after Agenda Item 7a. <br /> i. Consider Approval of Fire Department Administrative Services Contract <br /> with the City of Falcon Heights <br /> Fire Chief Timothy O'Neill briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the Request <br /> For Council Action and related attachments dated November 25, 2019. <br /> Councilmember Willmus wondered how everything was going to be done that is <br /> described in the memo for$40,000 a year. <br /> Fire Chief O'Neill explained that as far as the administrative services, there is a <br /> lot he was hoping would be figured out along the way but Falcon Heights only <br /> runs 130 calls a year so the call volume is not significant where it would be prob- <br />
