I live at 2171 County Road B W. It has been brought to my attention that there are
plans to build 19 new town homes down the street from me. This would be a terrible mistake.
County Road B is falling apart already. There are pot holes and crumbling road throughout.
This area of Roseville pays extraordinary amounts in property taxes and we have been ignored
for the past 13 years I have lived here.
It took years of writing to the city council just to lower the speed limit from 40-30 mph and
put in a makeshift walking path so that residents could actually get outside safely in their own
neighborhood. The speed limit is already not being followed consistently, the walking path
dividers are usually laying in the street because some car hit them and there is a constant
stream of cars all afternoon in this residential area.
We DO NOT need more traffic on this road. It cannot take more cars, garbage trucks,
construction trucks. We are falling apart back here.
My taxes went up to nearly $10,000 this year and my kids have never had a sidewalk to ride
their bikes on or a park in this neighborhood to play in since we moved here.
If you expect Roseville citizens to stay living in Roseville, you need to make good on your
comprehensive plans for the future, and invest in all areas of Roseville. This Midland Hills
neighborhood is turning around. There are so many young new families that I see out
attempting to push strollers, teach their young ones to ride a bike. Grandparents out with
their grandkids trying to safely maneuver down the walking path.
We need to keep our families safe. We need to know that when we send our kids out to ride
their bikes and gain some independence, that they have a safe place to do that.
Please do not allow more homes to be built on that parcel of land. It has so much potential to
add a safe space for our families to get outside, get exercise, get fresh air, gather as a
community.
Thank you,
Katy Westby
