SUSTAINABILITY UPDATE 2020
JUNE 2020
CITY HALL CAMPUS
PERVIOUS PARKING LOT
At City Hall, a new parking lot has been installed
that features a section of porous pavers. Porous
pavement reduces runoff water by giving water a
route to seep into the ground instead of sit on the
surface. These pores, or cracks between the pavers,
limit water entering the storm sewer system. Rose-
ville completed the final paving of the lot in late Octo-
ber, and finished grading and sodding in spring 2020.
S©LSMART
G O L D
SOLSMART PROGRAM
SolSmart is a national organization that pro-
vides resources, guidance, and recognition to
cities that support local solar energy. SolSmart
offers cities no -cost technical assistance from a
team of national experts working to evaluate pro-
grams that impact solar markets. Rated from
Bronze to Gold, the program recognizes cities
which have demonstrated a commitment to solar
energy by taking tangible steps towards inte-
grating solar energy into their city. In August, Ro-
seville was presented Gold Level recognition, the
highest possible designation from the program.
In addition, the city received a Special Recognition
Award in the Inspections category of the program,
earning over 60% of the points possible in the
category.
4
