All appliances and products purchased by the City should meet the US Environmental <br />Protection Agency's Energy Star certification. As identified in the EPPP, these products <br />include lighting systems, exhaust fans, water heaters, computers, exit signs, and <br />appliances like refrigerators, dishwashers, and microwaves. More information found <br />here. <br />• When purchasing energy saving products, Roseville should use EPEAT (Electronic <br />Product Environmental Assessment Tool) to evaluate, compare, and select electronic <br />products based on their environmental attributes. Products purchased should be registered <br />as EPEAT Bronze certified or higher. <br />EPEAT is used around the globe as a leading ecolabel that can independently verify <br />manufacturer's claims. Many governments and public sector purchasers use EPEAT as <br />part of their sustainable procurement decisions. More information can be found here. <br />• Another label to consider when purchasing Information Technology products is TCO <br />Certified. This is a worldwide comprehensive sustainability certification, and has a large <br />database of certified devices and equipment. More information can be found here. <br />Join a state or federally recognized electronic challenge. As mentioned earlier, the State <br />Electronics Challenge (SEC) program can provide resources and track sustainability <br />achievements in comparison to other cities. <br />Water Saving Products <br />• As stated in the EPPP, Roseville should purchase water -saving products when updating <br />or replacing these products within City buildings. These products should meet the EPA's <br />WaterSense certification. These products include toilets, urinals, low -slow faucets and <br />aerators, and upgraded irrigation systems. More information can be found here. <br />Cleaning Products <br />• All cleaning products purchased by the City should be certified as green cleaners by <br />Green Seal or EcoLogo. <br />Waste Minimization <br />• All products should be packaged in recyclable wrapping and boxes that contain at least <br />30% PCW. <br />• No prepackaged bottled water should be purchased for consumption on the City Campus <br />unless no alternative means of obtaining safe drinking water are available and/or in the <br />
