2020 Drainage Improvements <br />o The City awarded a contract to Frattalone Companies. Work consists of installing <br />a new iron -enhanced sand filter basin on Brenner Avenue near Millwood Street to <br />reduce flooding and provide water quality treatment for Lake Owasso. Work also <br />involves grading in Central Park and installation of a drainage structure in Acorn <br />Park. Work started in June and is expected to be completed by August. <br />Ramsey County: <br />• County Road C Reconstruction: Hwy 88 to Long Lake Road <br />o The majority of the work is completed. All work should be completed by the end <br />of July. <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation updates: <br />• I-35W MnPASS project- <br />httn://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/vroiects/35wnorthmnnass/index.html <br />o Construct MnPASS Express Lanes (one lane in each direction) in the middle of <br />existing I-35 W between County Road C in Roseville and Lexington Avenue <br />(County Rd 17) in Blaine. <br />o Repave I-35W and ramps between County Road C in Roseville to just north of <br />Sunset Ave (County Road 53) in Lino Lakes. <br />o Replace and repair bridges along the project area <br />o Install noise walls on the east side of I-35W just north of the County Road C <br />ramps to County Road D. <br />o Contract was awarded in October 2018 to Ames Construction which had the <br />winning Design/Build Proposal. Total cost is $208 million. <br />o Work is ongoing and will continue through 2021. <br />Miscellaneous Updates: <br />• Capitol Region Watershed's Parkview Storm Water project is underway. Major work on <br />the project is completed. <br />City Council Update: <br />• The Civic Campus Master Plan is just starting the public engagement component of the <br />project. The consultant and City staff will be engaging stakeholders around the Civic <br />Campus and offer opportunities for the general public to offer comments as well. An <br />article in the July/August Newsletter will announce the project website to the public. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Street and Storm <br />o March <br />• Winter tree trimming completed. <br />• Street Sweeping started 3/9/20-3/23/20 Pre-COVID-19. <br />• 3/24/20-4/13/20 Staff stayed at home and responded to emergencies. <br />• Assisted Utilities in pumping Owasso Hills and Arona Ponds. <br />• Several tree limb removal calls. <br />• Roseville Compost site has been very busy this spring/early summer and <br />the bins have been refilled daily. <br />• Started hauling out Spring sweepings. <br />o April <br />Even with COVID-19 restrictions in early Spring, all Maintenance <br />programs continued and have been completed as usual. <br />4/13/20 - 8 Fulltime Street Department Crew staggered. <br />
