The cost would be $50,000 to <br />75,000. <br />4. Prior Avenue (DOT #923802A) <br />Prior Avenue is a local street that accesses several businesses on the south <br />of the track. The existing warning devices are flashing light signals. The <br />railroad signals are interconnected with the traffic signals on County Road <br />C. The risk index is 4,036. The warning system will need to be replaced <br />with a gate system. The location of the gates may require realigning to the <br />roadways. The cost would be $175,000 to $225,000. <br />5. Fairview Avenue (DOT #061346U) <br />Fairview is a 6 -lane roadway very close to County Road C. The existing <br />warning device is cantilever signals with gates and motion detectors. The <br />railroad signal system is connected with the traffic signals at County Road <br />C. The risk index is 16,153. Improvements would include upgrade of <br />circuitry and possibly 4 quadrant gates or stationary horns. The cost would <br />be $200,000 to $300,000. <br />6. Snelling Avenue (DOT #061348H) <br />Snelling Avenue is MnDOT Highway 51 and is a 7 -lane divided highway. The <br />warning devices are cantilever signal with gates and motion detectors. The <br />railroad signals are interconnected with the highway signals at County <br />Road C. The risk index is 22,669. The improvements would upgrade the <br />circuitry and cost between $100,000 and $150,000. <br />7. Private Crossings between Snelling Avenue and Hamline Avenue <br />There are 6 private crossings between Snelling and Hamline. All crossings <br />have stop signs for warning devices. Trains do not normally sound their <br />horn for private crossings. The rules require the FRA to provide input into <br />what would be appropriate warning devices. The users would also need to <br />be in agreement. <br />8. Hamline Avenue (DOT #061335T) <br />Hamline is a 3 -lane roadway. The warning devices are cantilever signals <br />with gates and CWT. The risk index is 9,234. The land use is primarily <br />residential. The railroad signal system is connected with the traffic signals <br />at County Road C. Improvements would upgrade the circuitry and install <br />medians. The improvements would cost $100,000 to $150,000. <br />9. Lexington Avenue (DOT #061356A) <br />Lexington Avenue is a 3 -lane roadway. The warning devices are cantilever <br />signals with gates and CWT. The risk index is 13,700.
