Mr. Karon read the portion of the new law governing regulations on assessments and hearings. A public hearing must be held to authorize the improvement if the Council buys the property with plans to assess the cost of purchase back against .the property owners. The Clerk read ~ resolution regarding application to St. Paul for Sanitary Sewerage hook-up. Hammersten moved, Carlson seconded that the following resolution be adopted. Roll call Ayes-(5) Nayes-(O). '~EREAS, the Village of Roseville desires to install a sanitary sewer system within that portion of the Village bounded by Hamline, Lexington, Garden, Roma, Chatsworth and Larpenteur, and WHEREAS, The extent and nature of the proposed system is shown upon the attached plat, and WHEREAS, A sælitary sewer system is necessary in said area to protect the health of the residents of said area as well as surrounding areas located in the city of Saint Paul, and WHEREAS, The Village of Roseville has no ~lequate outlet for said proposed sewer, and WHEREAS, the sewer systeIll of the City of Saint pau.l extends to Larpenteur Avenue, which is the southerly boundary of said area, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Village of Roseville through its proper officers request the City of Saint Paul to allow a connection with the Saint Paul sewer system for the purpose of discharging therein sanitary sewage from s aid area upon the payment of such charges as the City of Saint Paul shall determine to be just and reasonable." Preliminary estimate of grading Roma Ave. from Fernwood to Dunlap was read. The total cost was $2100.00, $S30 of. which would be Village cost, leaving a total of $1,70.00 to be assessed against the property owners. This would amount to $130.50 per owner of each 75 ft. lot.
