4. BUILDING CANOPY OR AWNING: A sign constructed of flexible translucent or fabric-type 2908 material that incorporates a written message or logo on the exterior. Building canopies shall be 2909 considered part of the wall area and thus shall not warrant additional sign area. 2910 5. BUILDING COMPLEX: A group of two or more buildings, planned or developed in a joint 2911 manner with shared parking facilities, regardless of whether such buildings or uses are located on 2912 the same lot or parcel. 2913 6. CONSTRUCTION SIGN: Any non-illuminated sign that displays information regarding the 2918 construction or development of the site on which it is displayed. 2919 8. DIRECTIONAL SIGN: A sign which contains no advertising and is intended to facilitate the safe 2920 movement of pedestrians and vehicles into, out of, and around the site on which the sign is 2921 located. 2922 2923 9. DYNAMIC DISPLAY: Any characteristics of a sign that appear to have movement or that appear 2924 to change, caused by any method other than physically removing and replacing the sign or its 2925 components, whether the apparent movement or change is in the display, the sign structure itself, 2926 or any other component of the sign. This includes a display that incorporates a technology or 2927 method allowing the sign face to change the image without having to physically or mechanically 2928 replace the sign face or its components. This also includes any rotating, revolving, moving, 2929 flashing, blinking, or animated display and any display that incorporates rotating panels, LED 2930 lights manipulated through digital input, "digital ink," or any other method or technology that 2931 allows the sign face to present a series of images or displays. 2932 10. FLAG: A piece of cloth or bunting varying in color and design, attached to a pole, used as a 2933 symbol, standard, emblem or insignia, or containing text other than that associated with a 2934 commercial, business, or economic interest or activity. 2935 11. FREESTANDING SIGN: Any sign not affixed to a building including but not limited to a ground 2936 sign, pole sign, pylon sign, or monument sign. 2937
