37 Allows the City to require a traffic/parking plan and security plan for the event <br />38 Requires the applicant to provide a 10-day notice to property owners within a 500-foot <br />39 radius of the property where the special event is to take place. The City will provide the <br />40 applicant the mailing list <br />41 For special events that will occur in a linear fashion throughout the city (e.g 5K <br />42 runs/walks), property owners along the route shall be noticed by mail or signage or a <br />43 combination of both as determined by the City based on the particulars of the event. The <br />44 City will provide the applicant the mailing list. <br />45 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />46 The creation of a special event policy and procedures will create more certainty for event organizers, <br />47 allow for better oversight of special events by the City, and help better inform and protect adjacent <br />48 property owners from the negative impacts of special events. <br />49 B UDGET I MPLICATIONS <br />50 The proposed policy would plan to recapture city costs as much as possible for city services <br />51 provided as a result of the special event. <br />52 S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION <br />53 Staff would like for the City Council to review and approve or provide input regarding the <br />54 special event permit policy. <br />55 <br />56 R EQUESTED C OUNCIL A CTION The City Council should review the attached material and consider <br />57 approving the special event permit policy.
