<br />2211 O’Neil Road, Hudson, WI 54016 t 651.256.3090 <br />www.b32eng.com <br />B32 ENGINEERING GROUP, INC. <br />This bid package drew a lot of interest and, although there was a fairly large spread between the <br />value of the bids, the grouping of the bid values indicates the project was bid very competitively <br />and that the contractors had a clear understanding of the design and bidding documents. The <br />pricing for the alternate bids, like the base bid, had a larger spread between all nine (9) bidders <br />but the majority of the alternate bids were fairly close to one another and the engineer’s <br />estimate. <br /> <br />We have reviewed the lowest bid submitted by Goodmanson Construction, requested and <br />received the List of Subcontractors and references as required by the bid form, and find no <br />irregularities that would cause us to be concerned with their bid. They have experience with this <br />type of work, they are using experienced subconsultants, and they have no concerns with their <br />bid. <br /> <br />The award for each of the two bid packages should be based on the condition that the Contractor <br />will execute the contract documents and return them to B32 Engineering Group, Inc. within <br />fifteen (15) days in conformance with the bidding documents. As a reminder and as will all <br />construction projects, we recommend budgeting an 8% contingency, in addition to the <br />construction cost, for any changes or unforeseen sight conditions th at may arise during <br />construction. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a bid tabulation for each of the two (2) bid packages. The original bid forms were <br />returned to the City last week. <br /> <br />We would be more than happy to discuss the bid results in more detail with you, your staff and <br />the City Council.
