Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday,June21 ,2021 <br />Page 13 <br />f.Consider a Request to Perform an Abatement for Unresolved Violations of <br />City Code at 941 Sherren Street <br />Building Official Dave Englund summarized the request as detailed in the Request <br />for Council Action and related attachments dated June 21, 2021. <br />Public Comment <br />Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment with no one coming for­ <br />ward. <br />Groff moved, Willmus seconded, directing Community Development staff to abate <br />the public nuisance violations at 941 Sherren Street by hiring a contractor to remove <br />and dispose of junk and debris items stored outside and notifying a towing company <br />to remove the inoperable vehicles from the property. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Strahan, Groff, Willmus, Etten, and Roe. <br />Nays: None <br />Recess and Reconvene <br />Mayor Roe recessed the meeting at approximately 7:51 p.m., and reconvened at approximately <br />7:56 p.m. <br />g.Consider Amending the Park Dedication Ordinance -City Code Chapter <br />1103.06 <br />Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Matthew Johnson briefly highlighted this <br />item as detailed in the Request for Council Action and related attachments dated <br />June 21, 2021. <br />Parks Director Lonnie Brokke was also at the meeting. <br />Councilmember Willmus thanked staff for bringing this forward, reaching out, and <br />working with Community Development. He thought that was a big part of this <br />which is having that connection between the two and making sure that this is going <br />to fit well and work within Community Development as well. <br />Councilmember Groff also thanked staff and appreciated Mr. Johnson checking <br />with other cities and making a chart for the Council, which made it helpful for him <br />to understand a little bit where they are. He was supportive of this, noting it gets <br />the City a little further to where they need to be as far as supporting parks and <br />making it a little fairer for people as they move in, but also, as the population in­ <br />creases that use the parks, the City has to increase funding so the parks can function.
