Wonderland was opened just one
year after Nortli Star, with some
585,000 square feet now under
lase. Com.nunity Realty Co. of
San Antonio, owner of Wonderland,
is now adding a 140,000 square
foot tull line department store for
Rhodes of California, scheduled for
opening in early spring of 1964.
The newest addition to the fanliiy of
Vlonder(and is the Tandy Corp.,
with 45,000 square faet of slling
space to be opened in mid-August
of 1963. Further indication of 1,on-
derland's growth is that five exsting
merchants are increasing snace.
"We'll do a gratiFying business
When McCreless opened at the
end of March, 1962, it, too, had
an enclosed, air-conditioned mall—
but the mall had not been planned
that way originally.
ays Mr. Mac: "Originally, we
were to have an epen mall, but
vhen North Star opened we figured
we'd be crazy if we didn'Y have an
enclosed mall. We've got about
550,000 square f.;et of retail space
and plans for the future are really
something.
