i
n
ROBERT A. JONES
GONSULTING ENdINEERS
LA GRANGE. ILLINOIS
Page 4
erial permitted us to install a qood quality TV antenna on a temporary ';
basis as a substitute for the hcmeowners antenna.
The same representatives from N.S.P. (Mr. David Metz, and i:rom
the Vi11agE (Mr. Larry Tschida) accompanied this writer. A11 three
were present on each home vis.ited on this "after" inspection.
The technique used here was the same as before. First, we
would observe the homeowners set and note the quality of recept.on
on each channel. Then we would ask pe.rmission to plug in our test
set and turn it on. Observations on our set were noted and then
compared againstthe owners set. Observations of the AM and FM broad-
cast bands were made only an our test set, as were listening tests
for noise. Each homeowner was asked if they had any difficulty with

0
radio reception. Almost nobody stated that they did. In fact, many
claimed to never listen to AM or FM. In several homes, where pecuy-
.. iar intrference was noted, video recordings were made. Wherever
possible recordings were again taken at these same homes in the
,
"after" survey. At three locations two on Lexington Ave. and one on
Owasso Blvd., our temporary TV antenna was connected. In each case
it proved a good quality antenna would correct the interferencf caused
by N.S.P. to these homeowners TV sets, In one or two other arEas a
given homeowner had already installed a good quality TV antenna, which
eliminated our eedto try our temporary antenna to determine the
satisfactory corrective measures to be taken.
CONCLUSIONS
The obvious conclusion is that mqst of the hameowners were
not effected, significantly, by the construction of the N.S.P.'s
