Prepare asphalt base course for wear course: <br />Thoroughly clean asphalt base to remove all clay and other soil that <br />g 1. <br />may have been tracked on to base. <br />' <br />2. Remove any broken or cracked areas and replace with asphalt concrete <br />mix and thoroughly compact. <br />3. When required, between lifts, apply a tack coat application of <br />a rate of .05 lb. .10 gallons per <br />emulsified asphalt. Install at <br />p <br />that will provide a thorough coverage of the <br />square yard in a manner <br />entire surface. Protect all buildings, walls, curbs, etc. from <br />emulsion spray. <br />E. Wear course: <br />1. Place and compact in accordance with MN DOT Specifications. Place <br />in inaccessible areas spread by <br />with a paving machine except small <br />hand. <br />2. Place each course at thickness so that when compacted, it will conform <br />finish thickness, <br />to the indicated grade, cross-section, pandTensity <br />indicated. Place mixture in as continuous operation <br />5, MARKING ASPHALT PAVEMENT (TO BE COMPLETED UNDER SECTION 09900) <br />A. Sweep surface with power broom supplemented by hand brooms to removeloose <br />asphalt concrete pavement <br />material and dirt. Do not begin marking <br />acceptable to Architect/Engineer. <br />B. Apply paint with mechanical equipment. Provide uniform str�►ight edges <br />rates. <br />applied in accordance with manufacturer's recommended <br />in stall lines and symbols to be 4" min. wide white stripes. <br />C. Parking <br />At handicap stalls paint handicap symbol in accordance with Minn. Building <br />D. <br />Codes Chapter 55. <br />6. CLEANING <br />A.
