1 <br />DIVISION 3 <br />CONCRETE <br />03430 - STRUCTURAL PRECAST, <br />PRESTRESSED CONCRETE <br />1. <br />GENERAL <br />A. <br />The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and <br />perform all work and services necessary for or incidental to the <br />furnishing and installation, complete, of all precast and prestressed <br />concrete as shown on drawings and as specified, in accordance with <br />provisions of the Contract Documents and completely coordinated with that <br />of all other trades. <br />B. <br />Although such work is not specifically shown or specified, all <br />supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and devices incidental <br />1 <br />to or necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation shall be <br />furnished and installed as part of this work. <br />C. <br />Provide the following types of precast and prestressed items: <br />1. Flat pretensioned, hollow core, machine cast under factory inspected <br />process similar to those manufactured by Spancrete, Flexicore or Fab <br />Con. Design planks for spans indicated to carry total of following <br />loads: <br />a. Dead load of units <br />b. Live loads indicated on drawings <br />c. Dead load of light weight topping <br />2. Precast concrete columns and beams of size shown on plans designed to <br />carry dead loads and all superimposed dead an live loads. <br />2, <br />QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. <br />Provide precast and prestressed concrete units produced by an active <br />member of Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI). <br />1. Firm shall participate in PCI Plant Certification Program. <br />2. The firm shall have a qualified registered professional Engineer on <br />his staff, who shall certify that his product conforms in all aspects <br />to the requirements of ACI 318-71. <br />B. <br />Provide units manufactured by plant which has regularly and continuously <br />engaged in manufacture of units of same type as those required for a <br />minimum of 3 years. <br />3. <br />SUBMITTALS <br />A.
