Fill <br />placed above planned bottom of footing elevation should be compacted to a <br />minimum of 95% of standard Proctor. <br />After the excavate and refill procedures have been performed in the <br />proposed building area, foundations can be supported at normal depth <br />below the lower floor slab. We assume temperatures in the parking <br />level will be maintained above freezing. All exterior footings should <br />be provided with at least 48" of soil cover for frost protection. <br />Interior footings can be placed at minimum depth below the floor slab. <br />Floor Slab <br />After performing the excavate and refill procedures indicated above, <br />the lower floor slab can be supported directly on the compacted fill or <br />natural soil profile. We do recommend that in areas where clay soils <br />are encountered at subgrade elevations, these soils be subcut a <br />minimum of 6" below planned bottom of floor slab elevation so that 6" <br />of free draining granular soils can be placed directly below the floor <br />slab. <br />SOIL exr-XORation <br />COMM W <br />
