1
Acted Type
Flashpoint (Organics only)
Percent of Sludge/BTU value/percent oil
Sulfite
Water Solubility
5.50 Waste Processinq and Storage Determination. Once
a specific waste shipment has been inspected and
cleared for receipt, the appropriate receiving area is
indicated. The choice of the appropriate storage area
or tank for a specific waste is made by the technical
director at the Facility and/or laboratory superviso
based on a consideration of all of the variables
affecting a given waste shipment. The treatment choice
' is also governed by waste testing recommendations the chemist's analysis. from
Once a waste shipment is determined to be on spec, all
information is logged in a continuing quality control
file maintained for each waste. All pertinent
information is recorded including at a minimum: date
received, manifest number, pH, ammonia, percent free
solids and equivalent acidity/alkalinity,
gravity, unloading area or tank and anticipatedflc
treatment process.
In addition to routine analysis, ongoing monitoring and
evaluation of required analyses is performed. Wastes
which continuously show low levels of certain
Pollutants will gradually have the frequency of
analysis for those parameters reduced. Similarly,
anomalies will be noted and checked with new shipment
samples if they have a possibility of significantly
affecting the treatment of the waste.
ed
technical judgement will be used to determinekeyparameters and frequency of reanalysis so as to insure
Proper treatment.
5.60
Sam lin .
5.61 General. Sample collection and preservation
techniques vary with the physical characteristics of
the waste and the type of analysis to be conducted on
the waste.
5.62 Sam 1§ Collection, Samples are collected by
trained operators from delivered wastes in the
following manner:
(a) Solid materials are sampled by taking a core
sample vertically through the center of the
material;
FJ
1 27.
