-2- <br />Thr:: MRC/LRI CTRF permit modification application, the revised hazardous waste <br />permit application, the MPCA Commissioner's draft Letter of Modification and <br />fact sheet are available for public inspection and copying at the Ramsey County <br />Library, County Road "B" and Hamline Avenue, Roseville, Minnesota. These <br />materials and other supporting documents also are available in the administrative <br />record at the offices of the MPCA, Hazardous Waste Permit and Review Unit, <br />520 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, Minnesota 55155 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. <br />weekdays (contact Virginia McCunney at 61.2/296-9631 for additional reviewing <br />information). A copy of the draft Letter of Modification will be mailed to any <br />interested person upon the MPCA's receipt of a written request for this document. <br />Such requests should be mailed to Mr. Steven A. Reed at the address listed below. <br />Written comments on the permit modification application, draft Letter of <br />Modification, and any other provision relating to the modification of the State <br />permit, will be accepted by the MPCA at the address indicated below, during the <br />public comment period, which commences on May 10, 1988 and ends June 24, 1988. <br />The MPCA's rules governing the contents of written comments are set forth in <br />Minn. Rules pt. 7001.1001, supb. 2 1987). Under these rules, written comments <br />must include: <br />1. A statement of the person's interest in the permit modification <br />application or the draft Letter of Modification; <br />2. A statement of the action the person wishes the MPCA to take, <br />including specific references to sections of the draft Letter of <br />Modification that the person believes should be changed; and <br />3. The reasons supporting the person's posit`,n, stated with <br />sufficient specificity as to allow the MPCA to investigate the <br />merits of the person's positions. <br />Interested individuals also may submit written requests for the MPCA to hold a <br />public informational meeting or a contested case hearing. The MPCA's rules <br />governing the holding of public informational meetings and contested case <br />hearings are set out in Minn. Rules pts. 70D1.0670; 7001.0110, subp. 3; and <br />7001.0130 (Supp. 186). If a person requestsa public informational meeting or <br />contested case hearing, the request must include the information listed in the <br />three items above and a statement of the reasons the person desires the MPCA to <br />hold a public informational meeting or contested case hearing and the issues <br />that the person would like the MPCA to address at the public information meeting <br />or contested case hearing. <br />The public comment period for the draft Letter of Modification may be extended <br />by the MPCA Commissioner if the Commissioner finds an extension of time is <br />necessary to facilitate additional public comment. Written comments or <br />requests for a public informational meeting and/or contested case hearing should <br />be sent to: <br />
