SECTION 02444 - CHAIN LINK FENCES <br />PART 1. GENERAL <br />1.1 Work under this section shall consist of constructing the backstops <br />for the two ballfields and the homerun fence for the south field. <br />PART 2. PRODUCTS <br />2.1 Fences shall conform to Mn/DOT Specification 2557 and as specified <br />below. <br />2.2 Backstop fence; 9-gage, 2-inch mesh, aluminum coated fabric, 2 3/8" <br />O.D. galvanized steel pipe posts, 1 5/8" galvanized steel pipe rail for <br />top, center and bottom rail. Provide 2-inch galvanized steel post at <br />center of center section. Height 12 feet, back section width 12.4 feet, <br />and width of wings 10 feet. Provide ties 18 inches on center, on posts and <br />rails. <br />2.3 Homerun Fence; 9-gage, 2-inch mesh, aluminum coated fabric, 2" O.D. <br />galvanized steel line post 10 feet on center, 2 3/8" O.D. galvanized steel <br />end posts, 1 5/8" O.D. galvanized steel top rail. Height of fence is 6 <br />feet. Refer to plan for length of homerun fence and location of gap in <br />fence at walking path. Provide 1 foot fence overlap at gap on each side of <br />walking path. Extend fence 10 feet beyond foul -lines. Provide ties <br />18-inches on center on posts and rails. <br />2.4 Concrete for Fence Posts shall conform to Mn/DOT Specification 2461, <br />Grade B, Type 3. <br />PART 3. EXECUTION <br />3.1 Install fences in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. Set <br />post in 10-inch diameter concrete, 36-inch depth for homerun fence line <br />Posts, and 48-inch depth for backstop posts and homerun fence end posts. <br />5 <br />
