Mr. Reed Banet -4- June 18, 1986 ACCESS/EGRESS LOCATIONS ALONG LEXINGTON AVENUE The purpose of this section is to offer comments and suggestions regarding access/egress locations along Lexing- ton Avenue, particularly the existing Lexington Plaza Shopping Center and the future Lexington Plaza Shoppes. Figure I Illustrates the existing access/egress situation along Lexington Avenue between Larpenteur Avenue and Roma Avenue. Major aspects of the existing access/egress situa- tion include: The Lexington Plaza Shopping Center has five access points on the east side of Lexington Avenue between Larpenteur Avenue and Dionne Avenue. one of which Provides full movements and Is located opposite a driveway for the Roseville shopping Center. The Roseville: Shopping Center has two curb cuts on the west side of Lexington Avenue one of which Is the full movement Intersection mentioned above. The First Minnesota Savings and Loan has two right turn access plaints on Lexington Avenue and his opportunity to use the Fu l l movement access Point referenced) above For the Roseville Shooping Center. One particularly sionificant effect of thii action would be to prevent left turns from the Roseville Shopping Center to the north on Lexington Avenue. An Idea for dcaiing with this situation would be to s l gna l I zer the Intersection of Larpenteur Avenue with the main entrance/exit for the Roseville Shopping Canter. Such a signal would Provide a safe and effective alternative for motorists to exit to they east on Larp;�,nteur Avenue and then turn to the north on Lexington Avenue.
