Recap of House Construction
ATTACHMENT NO. 1
Page Two
October, 1987
Delivered the final plans to Gordon
Beseth with all the elevations so we
could proceed with construction. We
gave one set of plans to Mr. Larson.
December, 1987
After construction started we found that
a large tree on the northwest corner of
the house had heaved the footing and
broken the foundation wall on the west
and north side. We called for an
inspection by Gordon Beseth and he
allowed us to repair and/or replace
parts of the foundation.
January, 1988
The Architect reviewed the foundation work
and suggested we proceed with the new shell
and frame the house after finishing the
foundations. At this point, the cost of
waiting one or two years, just to frame
in the new roof was not worth waiting.
We then prepared the structural drawings
for the roof structure. We then sub—
mitted two plans and the structural
drawings for an additional permit on
February 1, 1988. The plans submitted
were the same as those given to the
City in October, 1987.
February, 1988
We received the permit and proceeded to
complete the frame and new roof. During
this period, rtr. Larson talked to the
workmen on a daily basis and was aware
of everything the men were doing. He
at various times, walked through the
constructoin and talked to the work—
men.
March, 1988
Approximately March 20th, I met with Mr
Larson as he was c erned about my
window projections on the east side.
He stated that this projection brought
my house too close to the property
line. That evening, I visited with the
architect how he calculated the set
bacl.: requirement from the paperwork that
h: given back in October, 1986.
