MEMORANDUM October 10, 1988
FILE #1900
To: Planning Commission
From: Frank J. Rekuski, Jr.
Dear Members of the Commission:
With this memo, I would like to express my concern in bringing to a°
resolution my variance request for a side yard set back and a shore
line building permit.
This was originally approved as a minor variance as per my.meeting with
the City Planner, Howard Dahlgrer., on April 13, 1988, as per his meeting
notes attached. The papers for the minor variance were drafted for Mr.
and Mrs. Larson to sign and then be given to the City to process. We
waited until the landscaping was completed, as per our agreement, and.
then asked Mr. Larson for his signed ,minor variance so the City could
proceed. On or about June 10th,,it was obvious Mr.. Larson was only
asked for more and more things to be done and expecting me to proceed r
with them, with no consideration for .hat it costs.
After spending thousands of dollars to satisfy Mr. Larson's continuous
demands, I finally had no choice but to file for a variance under the
regular process.
I have compiled for your use a memorandum as per the construction pro—
cess through April 13 and a memorandum regarding the process from
April 14 through filing for the variance on August 30th.
It should be noted here that at the meeting of April 13th, Mr. Larson
stated he would sign the minor variance. Prior to finishing any of the
interior walls, including insulation and sheetrock, it would have been
much cheaper for me to have moved the wall 2' than
a to have continu
ally
Y
spent money trying P y y in g to satisfy this person. It is obvious that I cannot
believe anything he tells me, as he says one thing and dotes another.
For my sake, my children's sake and for the sake of peacefulness in
my family, I would appreciate your consideration in approving this minor
variance. This is my property and my family's and we deserve the right
to live in our house just as you live in yours!
