• STATE OF MINA'ESOTA e <br />-WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD <br />RESOLUTION WMB-047-83 <br />WHEREAS, the Waste Management Board in implementing state policy <br />as exprQssed in the Waste Management Act of 1980 supports the concept of reuse <br />and recycling to minimize the ultimate disposal of hazardous waste, as well as, <br />the concept of generator -initiated approaches to achieve these goals; and <br />WHEREAS, heavy metal and inorganic solutions and sludges,constitute <br />19 percent of Minnesota's hazardous wastr generation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Recovery Corporation has requested assistance <br />of the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission and the Metropolitan Council in the <br />establishment of a centralized metal recovery facility to achieve the recycling and <br />reuse. of heavy metal wastes; and <br />WHEREAS, this is an innovative example of generators working together <br />to develop a cooperative approach to proper hazardous waste management; and <br />1 <br />.WHEREAS, it appe-ars that development of the project by the private <br />sector alone is unlikely. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Waste Management Board urges the <br />Metropolitan Waste Control Commission and the Metropolitan Council to suppbrt <br />establishment of a centralized metal recovery facility. <br />b <br />DATED: <br />September 22, 1983 <br />0 <br />,5% <br />Robert G.
