I.
J.
K.
7
It is expected that 10% to 25%, by dry metal weight, of
the incoming metal waste will be recovered for reuse.
Nonhazardous waste, primarily zinc, will constitute
approximately 30%, by dry metal weight, of the incoming
processed waste. Approximately 75% of the total incoming
wastes will not initially be amenable to recovery. These
wastes will be processed into inert solid residuals,
mixed metal, dewatered sludges, or neutralized.
In the event that these wastes are processed into fixed
solids, approximately 800 tons of solids in the form of
inert blocks composed of cement and other fixation
substances combined with trace amounts of mixed metals
will be generated annually as a processing residual. In
the alternative, if these wastes are processed into
sludges, approximately 400 tons of partially dewatered
mixed metal sludges will be generated annually as a
process residual.
Solid inert substances
be disposed of at MPCA
Minnesota. Mixed metal
will be disposed of at
waste facilities, or at
facilities. [1)
Fish and Wildlife
generated, if nonhazardous, will
approved sanitary landfills in
sludges and organic materials
approved out-of-state %azardous
approved solvent and oil recovery
Disruption of fish and wildlife habitat is not an issue
with this project. [1]
Archeological and Historical Resources
No archeological or historical resources will be
disturbed by this project. [1, 4a]
Parks and Special Resource Areas
Parks and special resource areas are not an issue with
this project. [1]
L. Roads and Traffic
Approximately 100 truck (tank trucks and semi -trailer
trucks) trip ends per day (50 trips to the site and 50
trips from the site) are estimated for the project. All
truck traffic to and from the site will be routed on the
city's established truck routes, will meet RCRA, state or
U.S. EPA routing and load limit requirements, and county
transportation license requirements. Minimal impact on
roadways and residences is expected, given the magnitude
of project related traffic compared to existing traffic
volumes on nearby roadways. The Minnesota Department of
Transportation has completed a review of the project and
stated that the project is anticipated to cause little
impact to transportation facilities in the area.
