Streetl Light Districts <br />In ordertoTod <br />45 evelop a rational approach to streetlight installation, the City Council in <br />46 1957, establisheda policy to install streetlightsat no assessment to ensure that the lights <br />47 would be installed where most needed and wanted. The “Standard Street Light” <br />48 installation is a continuation of this policy. <br />49 <br />50 Since the need for lighting varies by adjacent use, different standards will apply as <br />51 follows. <br />52 A. Standard District <br />53 o This standard be used for all areas in the City unless they are defined as <br />54 Commercial, City Special or Enhanced districts as shown in Appendix A, <br />o P <br />55 rocedure <br />56 If the following conditions are met, the City will install streetlights at the <br />57 following locations: <br />58 Electrical service is available, unobstructed, and no more than one <br />59 new pole needs to be set, AND <br />60 The location is at the intersection of two streets, OR <br />61 The location is at the end of a cul-de-sac, OR <br />62 The location is on a severe curve, either vertically or horizontally, <br />63 OR <br />64 The location isit at a dedicatedmarked pedestrian crosswalk. <br />65 City staff will notify property owners within 300 feet of the new light <br />66 location where lighting will be installed at least three weeks prior to the <br />67 installation of the light. <br />68 Mid-block lights are desirable, anddesirable and should be considered for <br />69 placement if the spacing between existing lights is greater than 600 feet. <br />70 If the above conditions are met, an individual property owner may <br />71 circulate a petition in the neighborhood to determine if the light is desired <br />72 (particularly by those property owners directly adjacent to the proposed <br />73 light). If 10060% consensus is built with property owners within 150 feet <br />74 of the proposed light, the City staff will work with the electric utility <br />75 company to install the light. <br />76 o Streetlight Design <br />77 Streetl Light Type: LED Cobrahead Cutoff <br />78 Pole Type: <br />79 Wooden if available <br />80 Fiberglass or aluminum if a pole needs to be installed. <br />81 o Funding <br />82 The City will fund installation and maintenance of lights within the <br />83 Standard District. <br />84 B.Business District <br />85 o This standard will be applied to all areas identified as Business Districts as shown <br />86 in Appendix A <br />87 o Procedure <br />City of Roseville Draft FebruaryMarch 2024 <br />Street Llight Policy <br />Qbhf!34!pg!342 <br /> <br />
