Final Draft <br />December 18, 2003February 12March 4, 2024 <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />175 Pole type: Wooden <br />176 <br />177 Procedure <br />178 The City will install streetlights at locations that conform to the following qualifying <br />179 conditions: <br />180 Overhead electrical service is available, unobstructed, and no more than one new wooden <br />181 pole needs to be set, AND <br />182 The location is at the intersection of two streets, OR <br />183 The location is at the end of a cul-de-sac, OR <br />184 The distance between existing streetlights is greater than 600 feet, OR <br />185 The location is on a severe curve, either vertically or horizontally, OR <br />The locati <br />186 on is it at a dedicated pedestrian crosswalk. <br />187 <br />188 Mid-block lights are desirable, and should be considered for placement if the spacing <br />189 between existing lights is greater than 600 feet. If the above conditions are met, an <br />190 individual property owner may circulate a petition in the neighborhood to determine if the <br />191 light is desired (particularly by those property owners directly adjacent to the proposed <br />192 light). If 100% consensus is built with property owners within 150 feet of the proposed <br />193 light, the City staff will work with the electric utility company to install the light. <br />194 <br />195 B.Funding <br />196 This is accomplished administratively, at no charge to the individual property owners. The <br />197 City annually budgets for these costs, including installation, operation and maintenance. <br />198 <br />199 <br />200 V. Enhanced Street Lighting <br />201 When the location, design, or number of requested lights does not meet the “Standard Street <br />202 Light” qualifying conditions, property owners may request that the City undertake an <br />203 “Enhanced Street Lighting” project. <br />204 <br />205 A.
