Final Draft <br />December 18, 2003February 12March 4, 2024 <br />Page 7 of 7 <br />261 Pole type: wooden, aluminum, fiberglass <br />262 <br />263 A.Procedure <br />264 A. <br />265 o The developer shall submit a street lighting plan for review and approval by <br />266 the City Engineer. <br />267 o <br />268 o For new residential subdivisions and commercialbusiness areas, the developer <br />269 shall pay the operation and maintenanceO & M costs to the electric utility <br />270 company until the City accepts the street lighting system. <br />271 o <br />272 o Acceptance of the new streetlights must be requested in writing by the <br />273 developer, along with a certification from the electric utility company that it <br />274 was installed according to their specifications. <br />275 <br />276 B.Funding <br />277 o The costs for installation, operation, and maintenance of streetlights in <br />278 developments will be paid for by the developer according to the provisions set <br />279 forth in this Policy. <br />280 o The operation and maintenance costs for an “eEnhanced Districtstreet light” <br />281 project in new developments shall be paid for by the new development in <br />282 perpetuity. These costs shall be determined and included in the Development <br />283 Contract. The costs shall either be paid forpaid up front by the developer or <br />284 assessed to the property owners. The total cost shall be the “enhanced” <br />285 operation and maintenance cost minus the City’s Standard Districtbasic <br />286 contribution. The City’s basic contribution shall be determined based on the <br />287 procedure outlined in section IV.A B. of this policy. <br />288 <br />289 <br />290 VII.VI. Authority <br />291 It is implemented through the provision in each year’s budget to pay for the cost of power <br />292 and maintenance of the existing system and funds for additional new lights.
