Final Draft <br />December 18, 2003February 12, 2024 <br /> <br />Page 7 of 7 <br /> <br />260 o <br />261 o For new residential subdivisions and commercialbusiness areas, the developer <br />262 shall pay the O & M costs to the electric utility company until the City accepts <br />263 the street lighting system. <br />264 o <br />265 o Acceptance of the new streetlights must be requested in writing by the <br />266 developer, along with a certification from the electric utility company that it <br />267 was installed according to their specifications. <br />268 <br />269 B. Funding <br />270 o The costs for installation, operation, and maintenance of streetlights in <br />271 developments will be paid for by the developer according to the provisions set <br />272 forth in this Policy. <br />273 o The operation and maintenance costs for an Ðenhanced street lightÑ project in <br />274 new developments shall be paid for by the new development in perpetuity. <br />275 These costs shall be determined and included in the Development Contract. <br />276 The costs shall either be paid for up front by the developer or assessed to the <br />277 property owners. The total cost shall be the ÐenhancedÑ operation and <br />278 maintenance cost minus the CityÓs basic contribution. The CityÓs basic <br />279 contribution shall be determined based on the procedure outlined in section <br />280 IV.A B. of this policy. <br />281 <br />282 <br />283 VII.VI. Authority <br />284 It is implemented through the provision in each yearÓs budget to pay for the cost of power <br />285 and maintenance of the existing system and funds for additional new lights.
