She explained regarding the trees <br /> that her family loves trees as well and much of the removal is dependent on what <br /> is required by the City. She noted there are a lot of scrub trees and the numbers are <br /> inaccurate with a lot of mess and wildness. <br /> Mr. Lloyd reviewed the City's recommendation for tree preservation. <br /> Etten moved, Schroeder seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 12073 entitled, <br /> "Resolution Approving the Proposed "Joevia Place" Preliminary Plat and <br /> Subdivision Variance(PF24-007)." <br /> Council Discussion <br /> Councilmember Etten appreciated this coming forward to the Council for <br /> consideration but there are two reasons why he is not concerned about this. He <br /> noted there are thirteen other properties on the same block that meet the same width <br /> and are actually over the City's total surface area requirements for the total lot. He <br /> felt this would work out in the neighborhood as well as the coverage of the lot. <br /> Councilmember Schroeder concurred. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Strahan, Etten, Schroeder, Groff, and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> b. Public Hearing and Consider Resolutions Approving the Vacation of Multiple <br /> Street Easements and Rights-of-Way <br /> Public Works Director Jesse Freihammer briefly highlighted this item as detailed <br /> in the Request For Council Action and related attachments dated June 3, 2024. <br /> Mayor Roe asked for clarification on vacation area D. <br /> Mr. Freihammer reviewed the vacation area for the Council. <br /> Mayor Roe indicated encroachments are not allowed into the easement area so if <br /> someone wanted to install a fence up to the edge of their portion of that vacation or <br /> property would that be considered an encroachment? <br /> Mr. Freihammer indicated that was correct. He explained what is considered an <br /> easement for utilities. He noted the City would not allow any encroachments at <br /> face value right now. <br /> Mayor Roe asked if the property owners are responsible for the maintenance and <br /> mowing of the rights-of-way, as it stands today. <br />
