Regular City Council Meeting
Monday,June 3,2024
Page 4
that the next price range will be more than that. She explained regarding the trees
that her family loves trees as well and much of the removal is dependent on what
is required by the City. She noted there are a lot of scrub trees and the numbers are
inaccurate with a lot of mess and wildness.
Mr. Lloyd reviewed the City's recommendation for tree preservation.
Etten moved, Schroeder seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 12073 entitled,
"Resolution Approving the Proposed "Joevia Place" Preliminary Plat and
Subdivision Variance(PF24-007)."
Council Discussion
Councilmember Etten appreciated this coming forward to the Council for
consideration but there are two reasons why he is not concerned about this. He
noted there are thirteen other properties on the same block that meet the same width
and are actually over the City's total surface area requirements for the total lot. He
felt this would work out in the neighborhood as well as the coverage of the lot.
Councilmember Schroeder concurred.
Roll Call
Ayes: Strahan, Etten, Schroeder, Groff, and Roe.
Nays: None.
b. Public Hearing and Consider Resolutions Approving the Vacation of Multiple
Street Easements and Rights-of-Way
Public Works Director Jesse Freihammer briefly highlighted this item as detailed
in the Request For Council Action and related attachments dated June 3, 2024.
Mayor Roe asked for clarification on vacation area D.
Mr. Freihammer reviewed the vacation area for the Council.
Mayor Roe indicated encroachments are not allowed into the easement area so if
someone wanted to install a fence up to the edge of their portion of that vacation or
property would that be considered an encroachment?
Mr. Freihammer indicated that was correct. He explained what is considered an
easement for utilities. He noted the City would not allow any encroachments at
face value right now.
Mayor Roe asked if the property owners are responsible for the maintenance and
mowing of the rights-of-way, as it stands today.
