Arneson, Brown, Kooistra, Matts-Benson, Penny, Raygor. <br />Nays: None. <br />Abstain: None. <br /> <br />b) PREPARE FOR JOINT MEETING WITH CITY COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 <br />Staff emphasized the importance of the Parks and Recreation Commission in providing resident <br />feedback to the City Council. To facilitate this exchange, the Commission periodically holds <br />joint meetings with the City Council. These meetings are used to update the City Council on the <br />work completed over the past year, receive feedback, and discuss future projects for the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed which topics to include in the presentation to the City Council, <br />including: <br /> Recommend the name Sunset Park for the new park at 2381 Co. Rd. B <br /> Lexington and Rosebrook Park tour information as well as feedback currently being <br />collected for each park: <br />o More inclusive playground at Lexington Park <br />o Replacement of the pool at Rosebrook Park <br /> Strategies for offsetting the possible loss of Veterans Park <br /> Upcoming search for new Recreation Management Software <br /> Update on Rosefest and other Parks and Recreation events <br /> Bike Planning Committee updates <br /> Natural Resources Plan Technical Advisory Committee update <br /> Discuss the potential for more proactive approach to parkland acquisition <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
