Better understand how feedback from Envision Roseville will be utilized in the Campus <br />Master Plan and Strategic Plan,as well as how the Parks and Recreation Commission can <br />be included in the process and discussion. <br /> <br />Staff confirmed that they will provide a draft Request for Council Action (RCA) for submission <br />to the City Council at the September 3, 2024, Commission meeting. This draft will include the <br />items discussed above. <br /> <br />5. OTHER BUSINESS <br />a) DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES <br /> Summer Updates: Rosefest <br />o Parade – Based on feedback the length of the parade was reduced, well attended <br />event, great feedback <br />o Touch-a-truck – Adjusted the day the event held based on feedback <br />o Superhero Carnival – 450 Participants, expanded offerings <br />o Music on the Patio at Cedarholm – New event <br />o Saturday, June 29 Events <br /> Run for the Roses – 496 Participants, 3 run events <br /> Party in the Park – 25% more inflatable tickets sold <br /> Fireworks – Moving the day allowed for the focus to be on a community <br />centered event, great feedback, some people expressed disappointment with <br />the date change <br /> Summer Updates: Recreation <br />o Leaders in Training (LIT) Program – 26 enrolled in 2024 vs 6 enrolled in 2023, <br />young adult development program with focus on recreation, volunteerism, and <br />training <br />o Nature Center Summer Camps – Over 150 participants with revamped camp activities <br />and offerings <br />o Rec Connect Program – Recreation provided 2 days/week at Unity Park <br />o Discover Your Parks (DYP) –Better attended events in 2024, positive feedback <br />Summer Updates: Summer Entertainment <br />o 2,7000 concert attendees to date <br /> Accelerated EAB Program <br />o Removals nearly complete (880) <br />o Treatments applied (309) <br />o Trees planted: <br /> 647 Accelerated EAB Program <br />272 Arbor Day Grant Trees <br /> 50 Planted by Arbor Day Foundation <br />300 private trees <br /> Total: 1,269 Trees Planted since 2022 <br />o Tree sale under way (150 more) <br />o Fall plantings forthcoming <br /> Lexington Park Playground <br />o First neighborhood engagement meeting was held on July 24 <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
