Page 1
versus the anticipated percentages of cover types after the proposed project is completed. It is
anticipated that the city will provide a project plan to document any changes to proposed cover
types.
Parks and Trails Î Existing and future parks and trails within the project vicinity will be
discussed.
Prime Farmlands Î Since the project is located within the city limits, no farmlands have been
identified within the project site.
Geologic Hazards and Soil Conditions - Data on the geology and groundwater resources of the
area will be secured from USGS, MGS, and other appropriate agencies regarding the potential for
such resources and the potential for significant impacts to them. This data will also be used to
classify soils and potential geological hazards adjacent to Willow Pond. Mitigation measures to
minimize environmental problems due to hazards or to prevent groundwater contamination will be
discussed.
Water Resources
Wetlands - Proposed alteration of any surface water including modifications to Willow Pond
will be documented, if applicable.
Surface Waters Î Any adjacent (within 1 mile) surface waters including streams, rivers, lakes,
or other waterbodies will be reviewed for potential impacts.
Wells - This will include the identification of any existing wells through a search of the County
Well Index Online which was developed by the Minnesota Geological Survey and the
Minnesota Department of Health.
Wastewater Î This section is assumed to be not applicable.
Stormwater Runoff - Information for this section will be provided by the City for the description
of the quantity and quality of site runoff before and after the project. Any permanent controls
to manage and treat runoff will be described as well as items that should be addressed in the
stormwater pollution prevention plan that will be required as part of the construction process.
Dewatering Î Potential dewatering activities during construction will be described.
Hazardous Wastes and Storage Tanks Î To determine if there is or is likely to be significant soil
or groundwater contamination adjacent to Willow Pond, we will reference the MPCA ÐWhatÓs in
my neighborhoodÑ database and any data provided by the City. Information from any previous
environmental work completed by the City will be used to complete this section.
Fish, Wildlife and Ecologically Sensitive Resources Î Any existing fish and wildlife habitat
areas located on or near Willow Pond will be documented. A DNR Natural Heritage Information
System (NHIS) database search will be conducted for the project and this information will be
included in the EAW. If any sensitive resources or State species of concern are determined to be
present, mitigation measures for any potential impacts will be identified.
Traffic/Transportation Î This section is assumed to be not applicable.
Air Emissions Î Air quality impact due the stormwater improvements are not anticipated. A brief
discussion of dust and odors during construction will be provided in this section.
Noise Î A brief discussion on construction noise will be included in this section.
Visual Impacts Î Potential visual impact will be addressed.
Historic Properties Î A database review from SHPOÓs MnSHIP database and OSAÓs mapper will
be conducted and findings will be incorporated into this section for any potential historical or
archeological resources nearby. Both agencies will receive a copy of the EAW during the
comment period for review.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG/Carbon Footprint) Î Kimley-Horn will complete the GHG
Emissions analysis for construction of the project using the tool developed by the Minnesota
EQB.
Cumulative Potential Effects - A review of potential cumulative impacts of the proposed
development will be documented in this section of the EAW. This assumes coordination with City
staff to identify any known future development adjacent to this project.
kimley-horn.com 767 EUSTIS ST, STE 100, ST.
