COUNCILMAN ANDERSON: Asked for what storm frequency this
plan was designed.

MR. SHORT said this system was designed on a five year
frequency storm. The plan could be made substantially larger
at more cost. Even with this design. there will be periods
of temporary ponding in the streets. It's not to take care
of 20 or 40 year storms. He further said he would consider
anything constructed in this area of a lesser capacity to be
a waste of time because at the time of improvement of the
streets and at the time of the installation of intake points
with good permanent streets in the area, another system would
have to be constructed.

MRS. LORTIS, 1947 Lake Street: Asked Mr. Short how he
proposed to get the water into Walsh Lake. Also asked about
extending the sewer.

MR. JAMES R. BELL, member of the board of directors of
Midland Hills Country Club: Opposed to the improvement.
Walsh Lake cannot handle the amount of water that will be put
into it in a relatively short period of time as compared to
natural run off and it will flood three of their fairways.

MR. JAMES MICHELS, Michels Construction Company, 2024 N.
Cleveland: In favor of the improvement. Believes it would be
beneficial to the whole community. This area has been a problem
for years and costs of construction keep rising every year.

MR. EDWARD SUCOFF, 1974 Midland Hills Road: Asked if a
village could promise a storm sewer to a developer. Also asked
how much the pumping station and extension would cost. He
said he thought there were two issues - people who have wet
basements and poor roads, and others who bought wet lands at
low prices for speculative purposes and now expect the village
to drain them.

MR. IVAR KAULS, 2020 West County Road B: Has two unbuildable
lots next to the pond because the level of the pond is not
controlled. Would like to build on one of the lots and is not
interested in draining the pond. Al30 commented on the litter
thrown on these undeveloped, unbuild~ble lots.
