on Kent Street without having something either mid-block or at
the corner. you'd have some real dark spots.

MAYOR LINEBARGER: Anyone else? There doesn't appear to

be.

MR. GEORGE REILING: Might we table this for a year?
Northern States Power might corne to heels - they seem to be
treating us a little rough at this time and maybe rather than
charge the prices and put in the amount of poles they want,
they may change their minds and maybe we will have such a crutch
that even if you' ordered the lights in we wouldn't be able to
use them.

MAyOR LINEBARGER: Is that amotion? There doesn't seem
to be anyone else that wants to speak so I'll close the hearing
and I'll state (inaudible) appears to have (inaudible) almost
entirely and I don't care to proceed.

COUNCILMAN DEMOS: Along that line I would go along except
one of the names opposed is one of the people who complained
about a year ago and complained about the condition of the wooden
pole that was up because it wasn't up to Hoyle and I hope they
don't come back if these things don't suit them as they exist.

MAYOR LINEBARGER: Those existing lights - I don't know
if they'd be removed or not, but I believe Mr. Honchell made it
clear. they're serving at Mr. Honchell's (inaudible).

MR. JAMES MICHELS: Couldn't we have a hand count - if it IS
at $10?

MAyOR LINEBARGER: How many would like to pay $10? How
many would like to pay $12?, $13?, $14? We dropped everybody
off at about $12 but there were five hands I saw at $10.

COUNCILMAN CURLEY: Personally I guess I shouldn't care
less whether there's a street light on Heinel Drive or not because
I live on Woodhill, but I have a street light on the corner that
I like, but 11m wondering whether the village - we have some
responsibility about lights. In the first place we've en-
couraged everybody else to get street lights because it cuts
down on vandalism and helps the Police Department and now we
get to the point and we pay for it and we're willing to give you
a credit. It's easy to back off and say they don't want it.

MAYOR LINEBARGER: What do you propose?

10
