like how come you're talking to me about the water sitting in
that guy's back yard because my land is dry.

j\llAYOR DEfIlOS: liVe' d never ge.t beyond Arden Hills because
every time you see those people they immediately remind us of the
water we send to Arden Hills. Some of us have fooled with
mother nature by building houses.

I'/lRSo JANE SCmlIDT, 1876 1'7. County Road C-2~ I'd like to say
I'm in favor of the storm sewer system and I'd like to urge the
Council to use the marshland on Mildred and C-2 for natural
filtration.

r-~YOR DEMOS: Anyone else?

MPS. EUGENE Af1UNDSON, 1798 Lydia: The reason the water collects
on wairview, we feelo is because they took the culvert out of the
corner, which stops the flow of water. Years ago it used to
go very nicely pa st Fi'a irview down to the lake, but since the
city took out the culverto there's no place for it to go.
It goes over the road, and now they lowered the road and that
doesn't make much sense.

limo STEVE WALSH, 1984.. County Road C-2: I was at the City
offices oni'riday to get a review of what was happening, and
the man I spoke with brought up a real problem with the section
of C-2 that I understand is under discussion tonight. He's
one of the firemen. He said about five months ago he had a
fire and the fire was directly in front of my house. It seemed
like a minor fire, and it was - a trailer had burned, and
although sizeable, it didn't present any real problem. But he
said from the position of the fire trucks that if the road
hadn't existed, it would have taken more than fiVG minutes to
reach it, and since there were propane tanks, he said it
represented a real danger and was a critical fire and if they
hadn't been able to reach the fire in time, it could have been
serious. So I'd like to make that point - there t,'\1as a
mention of building up around the road so it would be (inaudible)
for the wild lifeo but I don't favor the removal of the road
at this time.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else?

27
