2

there would be some minor improvements along the intersection of
County Road Band Fulham.

As many of you recall, in the early 1970's there was a
storm sewer improvement for ~tidland Hills (inaudible). A force
main was built from Walsh Lake along this dashed line along
Fairways and up Fulham on the (inaudible) where the water goes
into a gravity system. None of the areas within this boundary
line have been assessed as part of that, or any other storm
sewer improvement according to our records.

We have some ponding that occurs in a low area identified
as 4 and some of this low area (inaudible) particularly in the
back yards of the homes and on the golf course. The major
problem that occurs is the water reaches this location and there
is no way to get the water out.

This low area is approximately the same elevation of this
pond. (inaudible) if the water would get to this pond (inaudible)
you can not take it to the force mains routinely because the
force mains are under pressure and if you had an open system
connected to the force main you would not be taking the water
to the main, you would be pumping the water and it would not go
to the corner and, in fact, go to the low area. You would be
pumping the water into the low spot.

The improvement proposed as a result of the petition would be
to intercept the water coming to this location (inaudible) into
Fairways Lane where it would join other water that was being
intercepted at the intersection, coming down Fairways in the
low areas, and the water coming off tl1e road (inaudible) because
it does not have adequate ponding without an outlet it would be
necessary to build another pipe down to Walsh Lake where it would
co-mingle with the other drainage and get pumped back out again
to the north. (Inaudible) and take it into the gravity feed.
Several different approaches were looked into but due to the
. (inaudible) elevation between the various low areas there's just
not a good spot to take any of the water to keep it from creating a
pond somewhere in that general location.

If this project were done, it would require acquiring
easements here and along the golf course (inaudible).

MR. POPOVICH: The total published cost of this is $156,200
and there are some 57 units of property involved. The total
cost per unit is $2,740.35. The city recommends that 25% of it
be assessed, or $685.09 per unit to be spread over a period not
to exceed 15 years with an interest rate to be determined at the
time of the assessment hearing.

MAYOR DEMOS: Any writ ten statements?

MR. ANDRE: We have a petition from some of the property
owners.
