4 That has been signed by 28 of the 39 property owners facing Oxford and by two property owners as it relates to Judith. I might add, Mayor, that the present policy as far as reconstruction of streets does not involve the 100% tax fund. It involves the 25% assessment against all reconstruction of streets. ~ffiYOR DEMOS: We build no streets out of tax funds. I'd like to make that very clear. Any words to the contrary were incorrect, totally incorrect. FROM THE AUDIENCE: I have a letter from a resident that was unable to be here. MR. ANDRE: This is a letter in opposition to the proposed street improvement from property owner Jack Ito, 1029 Judith Avenue. COUNCILMAN KEHR: Is that in addition to the 28? MR. ANDRE: Yes. ALLEN CARRIER, 1040 County Road C-2: On the north corner of C-2 and Oxford. I guess there's been quite a lot of discussion on this street, for and against. First of all, in a letter that was sent out by some of the residents on the street - I don't know if the City Council is aware of it or not - but there was a letter signed by the City in regard to that letter stating that some of the information in there was wrong. I would like to address to that and the fact that any information that was in that letter was obtained either from personnel here at the City Hall or from Short, Elliott and Hendrickson, the engineers who did the surveying. The letter,I feel, was written in respect that maybe I put that in there on purpose or that it was misleading. That certainly was not the case. I personally believe that the original petition that was brought about to the residents is misleading. All it states in that petition is that the undersigned hereby petition that said area be improved by the installation of street paving, concrete curb and gutter and (inaudible). Nowhere in that petition does it state that road would be widened to a 32 foot roadway and I think that's evidenced by the fact that 13 of the original petitioners took their name off the original petition and also that you had mentioned that the petition against it of this proposed project was signed by 29 of the 39 residents on Oxford and also there are three residents on Judith who oppose that project.
