<br />Roseville city council Minutes <br />January 23, 1995 <br /> <br />F-3 <br /> <br />Michael Hermes, Coordinator of the star of the North <br />Games, gave an update on the twenty-five events to be <br />held in Roseville this summer, with Opening Ceremonies <br />to be held on Saturday, June 17, 1995. <br /> <br />F-4 <br /> <br />Al Sands, Roseville resident, asked Council to <br />consider having Council meetings start at 7:00 p.m. <br />rather than 5:30 p.m. because he feels some items on <br />the agenda are too early for people to attend the <br />meeting, and also discussed his views on Tax Increment <br />Financing (TIF). <br /> <br />G. <br />G-1 <br /> <br />HEARINGS <br />P. Johnson moved, wiski seconded, that the Roseville <br />Area High School and Grace Church of Roseville request <br />for vacation of Dellwood Street and variance to the <br />setback requirements of the zoning ordinance at 2365 <br />Oellwood Street be continued to the regular city <br />Council meeting of Monday, February 27, 1995. Roll <br />Call, Ayes: P. Johnson, Mastel, Wiski, and Goedeke. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />I. REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS (Continued, if necessary) <br />(Formerly E-l1) <br />I-I P. Johnson moved, Mastel seconded, that a resolution <br />to acquire by condemnation Benjamin's Restaurant <br />Property at 2887 Snelling Avenue and the Health East <br />property at 2831 Snelling Avenue, under the powers of <br />Eminent Domain certain easements for permanent roadway <br />and utility purposes, and temporary construct~ion, and <br />directing the necessary proceedings be instituted by <br />the City Attorney for such purpose, be continued to <br />the regular City Council meeting of Monday, February <br />13, 1995. Roll Call, Ayes: P. Johnson, Mastel, <br />wiski, and Goedeke. Nays: None. <br /> <br />(Formerly E-5) <br />1-2 P. Johnson moved, Mastel seconded, that a grant in the <br />amount of $500,000 from the Minnesota Amateur Sports <br />Commission for improvements to the John Rose Minnesota <br />OVAL/Ice Arena be approved with a match of $1 million <br />from the City. Roll Call, Ayes: P. Johnson, Mastel, <br />Wiski, and Goedeke. Nays: None. <br /> <br />(Formerly E-6) <br />I-3 P. Johnson moved, Goedeke seconded, approval of sale <br />of tax forfeited property adjacent to the Milton <br />street cul-de-sac, identified by PIN 11-29-23-34-0027, <br />to Barry O'Meara in the high bid amount of $2,901.00. <br />Council further directs staff to prepare the necessary <br />documentation to transfer ownership to Mr. O'Meara. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: P.
