<br />Roseville City Council Minutes <br />August 24, 1998 <br /> <br />1-2 <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Mastel seconded, that John and Monell Jakel's request for <br />variances to reduce the front yard setback to 13 feet to allow the placement of <br />an accessory building in the front yard area of a lake shore parcel, and to <br />increase the lot coverage to 38.4% of the required rear yard for the purpose of <br />constructing a 24' x 36' (864 square feet) replacement garage at 3170 West <br />Owasso Boulevard, be approved. Roll Call, Ayes: Wiski, Mastel, Maschka, <br />Goedeke, and Wall. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Wiski moved, Mastel seconded that Item 1-3, Robert Schroeder's request for <br />variance from City Code Section 1011.02, to allow the construction of a <br />12' x 32' addition to a pre-existing, nonconforming residential structure on a <br />lake shore lot at 257 McCarrons Boulevard, pending approval from the <br />Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, be moved to become Item 1-8 <br />because the applicant was not present. Roll Call, Ayes: Wiski, Mastel, <br />Maschka, Goedeke, and Wall. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />JOHN AND <br />MONELL <br />JAKEL <br /> <br />AGENDA <br />CHANGE <br /> <br />(Formerly 1-4) <br />1-3 Goedeke moved, Maschka seconded, that Peter Kelsey and Greta Friedemann's PETER KELSEY <br />request for variances to reduce the front yard setback to 20' and the setback AND GRETA <br />from the ordinary high water level of Walsh Lake to 37.5 feet for the purpose FRIEDEMANN <br />of establishing a building pad, prior to having a house designed for the parcel <br />at 1935 Lake Street, pending approval from the Minnesota Department of <br />Natural Resources, be approved with the following provisions: <br /> <br />1. The 37.5' setback area from the ordinary high water level of Walsh Lake <br />must be planted and maintained with natural vegetation. A walkway/ <br />open area not exceeding 20' in width will be allowed between the building <br />area and the shoreline. The existing trees along the shoreline of the <br />property must remain in place to soften the visual impact of the house <br />from Walsh Lake. <br /> <br />2. The impervious lot coverage of the parcel shall not exceed 25%. <br /> <br />3. Drainage of the property, including the driveway and roof gutters, shall be <br />directed to Lake Street. <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Wiski, Mastel, Maschka, Goedeke, and Wall. Nays: None. <br />
