<br />SECTION 11 <br />Definitions <br /> <br />103 <br /> <br />For the purpose of this plan, certain words and terms are defined as follows: <br /> <br />Vlords used in the present tense include the future; words in the singular <br />number include the plural, and words in the plural number include the singular; <br />the word "building" includes the word "structure"; and the word "shall" is <br />mandatory and not directory. <br /> <br />Accessory Use: <br />A use customarily incidental and accessory to the principal use of a lot <br />or of a building located upon the same lot. <br /> <br />Advertising: <br />Any writing, printing, painting, display, emblem, drawing, sign, or other <br />device designated, used or intended for advertising, or any type of <br />publicity or propaganda, whether placed on the grounds, rocks, trees, tree <br />stumps, or other natural objects, or on a building, signboard, billboard, <br />wall, roof, frmae, support, fence, or other man-made structure. <br /> <br />Boarding, Rooming, or Lodging House: <br />A building other than a hotel where lodging or meals for five (5) or more <br />persons is or are provided for compensation. <br /> <br />Building: <br />A structure having a roof supported by columns or walls. <br /> <br />Dwelling, One-Fwnily; . Two-Family: <br />A detached building designa.ted for or occupied by not more thtiIl one or <br />two families respectively. <br /> <br />Fanily: <br />AJ1Y nUllber of individuals living together as a single housekeeping unit. <br /> <br />Garage, Public: <br />A garage other than a private garage, used for the housing or care of motor <br />vehicles, or where such vehicles are equipped for operation repairs, or <br />kept for remuneration, hire or sale. <br /> <br />Highway: <br />The entire width between property lines of every way or place of whatever <br />nature other than an alley when any part thereof is open to the use of <br />the public, as a matter of right, for purposes of vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />Hotel: <br />A building occupied as the more or less temporary abiding place of <br />individuals who are lodged ?dth or without meals for compensation and <br />in which there are more than ten (10) sleeping rooms usually occupied <br />Singly, and in which no provision is made for cooking in any individual <br />apartment. <br /> <br />Non-Conforming Use: <br />, A b1fi11<i;iJ}g Qr,yhe use of land that does not conform with the USH or other <br />regUlations provided in this pesolution for the district in which it is situated. <br /> <br />Sign, Advertising: <br />Any structure or device used for advertising, as defined herein. <br />
