<br />10 <br /> <br />~ <br />'-Ji: <br /> <br />story: <br />That portion of a building included between the surface of any floor <br />and the surface of the floor next above it, or if there be no floor <br />above it, then the space between such floor and the ceiling next <br />above it. <br /> <br />story, Half: <br />A story UJlder a gable, hip or gambrel roof, the wall plates of which <br />on at least two (2) opposite exterior walls are not more than three <br />(3) feet above the floor of such a story. <br /> <br />street: <br />A public or private thoroughfare which affords a primary merols of <br />access to abutting property. <br /> <br />structure: <br />Anythini,'; constructed or erected, the use of which requires more or <br />less permanent loca.tion on the ground or attachment to something <br />having a permanent location on the grmlnd. <br /> <br />structural Alteration: <br />Any change in the supporting members of a building such as bearing <br />walls, columns, beams, or girders, floor joists or roof joists. <br /> <br />Tourist Automobile Camp: <br />One or more detached or semi-detached buildings containing guest <br />rooms and/or apartments with automobile storage or parking space in <br />connection therewith, including grocery or general merchandise stores <br />conducted in connection with such camp and designed chiefly for the <br />use and convenience of the traveling public, and/or land used for <br />camping purposes by automobile transients. <br /> <br />Yard: <br />An open space on the same lot with a building, unoccupied and un- <br />obstnlcted from the ground upward except as otherwise provided herein. <br /> <br />Yard, Front: <br />A yard extending across the width of the lot and measured from the <br />front line of the lot to the nearest line of the building. <br /> <br />Yard, Side: <br />A yard on each side of the building between the building and the <br />side line of the lot and extending from the front yard to the rear <br />yard. <br /> <br />SECTION 12 <br />Administration <br /> <br />(a) Except as otherwise provided in this Section, the lawful use of any <br />land or buiillding existing at the time of the adoption of thi~ plan may be <br />continued, although such use does not conform to the regulations specified <br />by this plan for the district in which such land or building is located; <br />provided, however, that no such non-conforming use of l.and s'hall-be. enl~r8ed or <br />increased, nor shall any such non-conforming use be extended to occupy a greater <br />
