<br />1~9 <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 11.10 <br /> <br />Radiant heaters or other unvented heaterB of less than 25,000 BTU input <br />may be installed in fireplaces providing the chimney ha.s a positive draft with <br />the damper closed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 12 GAS BURNERS: <br /> <br />. <br />Gas burners of all types shall consist of aSEembled and tested units and <br />sha.ll be accompanied b,y complete and comprehensive installation and operation <br />1nstructions. The burner or burners shall be lo.cated according to the manu- <br />facturers' instructions and shall be so secured that they will not twist, slide <br />or drop out of position. <br /> <br />. <br />SECTION 2 - 12.1 <br /> <br />The burners shall be so installed as to be readily accessible for cleaning <br />and inspection. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 12.2 <br /> <br />The burner or burners shall be 80 installed that no part of the flames <br />impinge on the heating surfs.ce so as to cause incomplete combustion. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 12.3 <br /> <br />Air shutters shall be adjusted to produce ~ proper flame at the prevailing <br />gas pressure. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 12.4 <br /> <br />On all pre-mix power burners an approved type of check valve shall be <br />installed in the gas supply line at the applianc~ to prevent back flow of air <br />into the gas line. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 13 AIR INTAKE: <br /> <br />Where secondary air is necessar,y, secondar,r air opening or openings shall <br />be provided, of sui'ficient area to supply an ade.quat.e amount of air for complete <br />combustion under the specified draft conditions and at the maxim~~ rate of firing. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 13.1 <br /> <br />Where an automatic secondary air control is provided, the construction <br />shall be such that, in case the control fails in ~y way, either the gas will be <br />shut off or the secondary air door will remain open. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 - 13.2 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The air intake of power burners shall be so ~ocated as to prevent the <br />possibility or accidental closure. The gas and air supply shall be equipped with <br />controls coordinated to prevent opening of the gas supply until ,the, air supply <br />is adequate for proper combustion and to shut off the gas supply in the event <br />of failure of the air supply. <br />
