Temporary poster signs for political advertBing <br />may be posted without permits but must be removed by those res- <br />ponsible for their being posted within 10 days following the <br />election for which the sign was posted. <br /> <br />14.220. Siqn Requlations in "R" Districts. '1'he following <br />signs are permitted in "R" Districts: <br /> <br />(1) Exclusive of house numbers, one name plate <br />sign for each dwelling unit which shall not exceed <br />three (3) square feet in area per surface am no <br />sign shall be so constructed as to have more than <br />two (2) display surfaces. No business or business <br />name may be designated or referred to on such sign. <br /> <br />(2) Exclusive of house numbers, one name plate sign <br />for each dwelling group of six (6) to twelve (12) <br />units, which shall not exceed six (6) square feet <br />in area per surface. One name plate sign for each <br />dwelling group of twelve (12) or more units which <br />shall not exceed twenty-four (24) square feet in <br />area per surface. No sign shall be so constructed <br />so as to have more than two (2) display surfaces. <br />Said sign may indicate the names of the buildings, <br />project, be a directory for occupants or state any <br />combination of permitted information. <br /> <br />14.230. Permitted signs in "R" Districts may be <br />located in any required yard but not less than three (3) feet <br />from any property line. <br /> <br />14.240. Advertising signs shall not be a permitted use <br />in "R" Districts. <br /> <br />14.250. Rotating or flashing signs shall not be per- <br />mitted in "R" Districts. <br /> <br />14.260. Churches, schools and other permitted insti- <br />tutional uses in "R" Districts may have an illuminated sign not <br />greater than fifty (50) square feet in gross surface area. <br />T~mporary signs advertising a special event may be posted after <br />receiving a permit from the Building Inspector. Such sign shall <br />not be greater than 70 square feet in area, less than thirty (30) <br />feet from a property line, and shall not be displayed longer than <br />thirty (30) days. <br />
