14.282. No sign shall project more than eighteen (18) inches across a required front yard or required side yard. 14.283. No sign shall project higher than twenty-five (25) feet above average grade at the building line or six (6) feet above the height of the building, whichever is greater. 14.284. Each shopping center development consisting of a group of stores operating under a common name in a shopping center district may have a maximum of two (2) pylon type signs not over thirty-five (35) feet in height. No part of the sign shall be closer than thirty (30) feet from a street right-of-way nor sixty (60) feet from a side lot line. The maximum sign area on anyone side shall be two hundred (200) square feet. No part of a pro- jecting sign may be less than fourteen (14) feet vertical distance from grade level nor less than three (3) feet horizontal distance from a driveway or parking area. 14.285. Illuminated signs shall be permitted provided that the source of light shall not beam upon any part of an existing residence or into an "R" District or into a public street. 14.286. Rotating signs shall be permitted. 14.287: Flashing signs shall not be permitted. 14.288. A single sign not exceeding six hundred (600) square feet in area may be authorized by the Council by special permit in an "se" District for a period not to exceed twenty (20) months to be used only for purposes of advertising the future con- struction of a shopping center. 14.289. The erection of one pylon type sign for any single business establishment in a "B-2", "B_3" or "se" District not an integral part of a shopping center structure occupying a lot owned or leased by the said business establishment is permitted under the following provisions: (i) No sign shall project more than eighteen (18) inches across a required front yard or required side yard; except that in a "se" District no part of sign shal.l be less than thirty (30) feet from a street line.
