<br />Employees shall observe the days herein designated as official <br />holidays and receive compensation as though worked, but essen- <br />tial operations shall be maintained by such skeleton crews as <br />the department head deems necessary. An employee working on <br />a holiday shall receive his regular pay in addition to the <br />holiday compensation herein given. <br />253. Compensation <br />253.010. Rates of Pay. Rates of pay for all employees <br />shall be set by the Village Council. <br />253.020. Pay Day. All regular employees shall be paid <br />on the fifteenth and last day of the month. When these dates <br />fall on a holiday or a weekend, employees shall be paid on <br />the preceding work day. <br />253.030. Payroll Deductions. Automatic payroll deductions <br />shall be made as required for federal and state government <br />taxes, and the various pension plans. Employees may elect to <br />have payroll deductions made for a Village employee group <br />insurance plan, United States Savings Bonds, charity drive <br />contributions, and union dues. <br />253.040. Overtime Pay. Overtime work is work in addition <br />to the established schedule for hours of work and shall only <br />be performed with the approval of the employee's supervisor or <br />Village Clerk. Employees will be paid at a rate of time and <br />one-half for all hours worked in excess of 8 consecutive hours, <br />and in excess of 40 hours in anyone calendar week. If an <br />
