<br />(8) "Employee" means only an employee subject to the <br />terms of this ordinance unless the context in which the word <br />appears requires a different meaning. <br />250.040. Appointments. All probationary, temporary, and <br />regular appointments to municipal service shall be made by <br />the Village Council. If the Council desires, it may request <br />the recommendation of the Village Clerk or other Department <br />Head concerning appointments. <br />250.050. Physical Examination. All applicants for <br />municipal service shall undergo a physical examination which <br />shall be conducted by a physician selected by the Village <br />Council. All costs of the examinations shall be borne by the <br />Village. <br />250.060. Types of Appointments. Every appointment of <br />any person to the municipal service shall be one of the <br />following: <br />(1) Probationary appointment - appointment to a future <br />permanent position. <br />(2) Temporary appointment - appointment to a position of <br />less than six months' duration. <br />(3) Regular appointment - appointment to a regular <br />position. <br />(4) Emergency appointments - appointments made by the <br />Village Clerk to prevent the stoppage of public business or <br />inconvenience to the public, but not otherwise.
