<br />it <br /> <br />Examiners which shall conduct such examinations as <br /> <br />are hereafter provided for. <br /> <br />(5) Membership of Board of Examiners. Board of Examiners <br /> <br />shall consist of five members. The Village Engineer, <br /> <br />who shall be chairman, the Utilities Superintendent, <br /> <br />Building Inspector, who shall act as secretary, and <br /> <br />two (2) licensed water service excavators. The water <br /> <br />service excavators shall be appointed to the Board of <br /> <br />Examiners by the Village Council, shall hold office <br /> <br />until the first day of July following appointment, and <br />shall serve without compensation. <br /> <br />(6) Duties of Chairman and Secretary. The Chairman of the <br /> <br />Board shall be empowered to call a meeting of the Board <br /> <br />whenever, in his opinion, there is sufficient number of <br /> <br />applicants for examination. The Secretary shall keep <br /> <br />a record of the acts and proceedings of the Board. <br /> <br />(7) Examination and Licensinq; Fee and Bond Required. The <br /> <br />Board shall examine the applicant as to his practical <br /> <br />knowledge of the work incidental to excavation and <br /> <br />backfilling of water service connections, and if <br /> <br />satisfied as to the competency of such applicant, the <br /> <br />Board may recommend to the Village Council that a <br /> <br />license be issued. Thereafter, the Council, after <br /> <br />considering the recommendation of the Board, may approve <br /> <br />-11- <br />
